So, I'm here in Jamestown, NY to visit my boyfriend's family. I love this town because it's so different from what I grew up with (Los Angeles). Fall has been awesome here although I've been told I missed the best part. Hop on over to my photo blog and check out what I've been seeing. Last night, my boyfriend and his nephews carved up some pumpkins and earlier I helped my boyfriend's mom bake apple pies.

Doesn't it look yummy? I cut out leaves and apple shapes for the top.

Here's Joe and his nephews drawing out faces for the pumpkins.

The final product. I'll be at the airport or in an airplane on Halloween day so I can't celebrate it. :( Tear. I hope all of you have a great Halloween.

Goin Out of Town

I finished my classes for this session! Yay! I get a one week break and start again. During that week though, I will be spending my time in Jamestown, NY. I'm going there with my guy to see his family and it will also be our 3 year anniversary while we're there. I'm excited to get out of this hot weather and into real Fall weather. I'll be taking a ton of pictures there and I'll be sure to share. Here are a couple from X-Mas 2007.

Inspiration

I've been looking for photography inspiration on Flickr and I didn't have to look far. I found this amazing photographer that sees the simple things in life as amazing beautiful art. Here is some of her photography that has inspired me and I hope it inspires you too.

Oh Rainy Days

Today is the first time it has rained in my town since June and I love it! There's just something about the rain that makes me feel warm and cozy no matter where I am. I especially love it when when I'm home under the covers with some hot chocolate and watching old black and white movies. What do you like to do when it rains?
I also recently have an obsession with woodgrain. I want to use it for everything from my home to my crafts. Here are some things on Etsy that I found to be quite lovely.

Cute cuff links

I love this amazingly cute wristlet

And these creative cat toys

And I kinda really want one of these wood stump pin cushions

I love this ring

The ultimate table decoration

Very lovely painting found here.
Crossing my fingers for more rain tomorrow. :)

Happy Sunday

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday so far. In an hour, I have to meet up with my classmate to work on a school project. This week though, I was able to finish and post in my shop these little photo cards. As soon as I received my printer, I got to work on them.

They are made to look like mini Polaroids and there are two different sets. I'm currently working on another set. I'm so excited about them!

Wow, it's been a while since I last blogged. School has made me super busy and haven't had time for much. I did get my new printer this week and I can't wait to pick the perfect paper for my prints. I've been trying to get around to doing a mini update on my shop since I got a few more goodies several days ago. Hopefully, that will happen tomorrow. This is what my to do list is looking like right now:
  • Make a time lapse movie (school)
  • Make a live action video of myself (school)
  • Put together and edit 10 images for the above project
  • Practice ratios (school/finance)
  • Make flyer to sell my books
  • Think of design for business cards and order them
  • Buy photo paper
  • Update shop
  • Edit photos for a job I did
  • Grocery shopping
  • Ahhhhhh, I almost forgot! And think of awesome ideas for a 3 year anniversary gift for my boy. I have no idea what to get him. Does anyone have any THRIFTY ideas as to what to give someone you've been dating for 3 years?
I don't do well under stress. Don't you hate it when you have sooo much to do that you don't even know where to start? I hate that feeling. I'm sweating just looking at my list right now. Better get to it.

On a Hike

A few fellow friends and I went on a hike yesterday to take pictures. It's funny, we're going to a photography school but right now we have to take classes that don't require taking pictures. We went to get some practice in.

I love that everything was so golden-like. Here's my friend shooting with her new Canon Mark II. It's so awesome, it shoots video! I just took 2 midterms back to back about an hour ago. Good to get them out of the way so I can enjoy my weekend!
