Elsie's Blog Party

That girl has so much inspiration bursting out of her. I've been following her 24 hour blog party and one of her creative challenges was to create a piece of art from a movie that inspires you. I chose "The Diving Bell and The Butterfly". A French film by Julian Schnabel. The film has the most amazing visuals but the one thing that stood out for me in the movie was the women saying the alphabet in French. It sounds so neat in French. Anywho, I made the chart that they use in the movie which I guess if anyone would see it in my room, they wouldn't know what it meant which I like. I'd like to be able to explain the story behind it.

Picnic

I went on a picnic for the first time with Joe. We went to Griffith Park and enjoyed the sun with turkey sandwiches, kettle chips and peach Snapple. We played Frisbee for a bit and took a short nap. We should go on picnics more often. It was such a beautiful spring day.

Work in Progress

I didn't think it would take me this long to construct a curtain out of doilies. First, was my mission to find doilies. Not very many thrift stores have them but I did find one thrift store that has many. Anywho, I try to put it together when I can which is why it's taking me so long. I just need to bust it out all at once. Here is what I have so far.

Doily Necklaces

I've been trying to catch up on some of my projects for the "Pretty" online class. I had fun making these. I'm pretty sure I'm going to make more. I have one big doily that has smaller doilies in them which are the perfect size for a necklace.

Rosa's BBQ

Went to a lovely BBQ this weekend or a "Carne Asada" at Rosa's house. Lots of good food, music, Mexican candy and alcohol.

Presents!!!

I just love ordering stuff online. It always feels like Christmas when your order finally gets to your door. I got my dress, shoes and necklace today from Mod Cloth and I'm so excited! I'm wearing the dress on Saturday for my friends' housewarming party. LOOOOVE my dress!

Need Motivation!

Lately I've been feeling really unmotivated to do crafts. I have all my supplies and I just got a new sewing machine but I find myself organizing everything and never really getting down to start something. Maybe it's because when I finish organizing everything, I'm too afraid to get everything out of order. I'm a neat freak! I did get to finish my mobile and started playing with perler beads, which are so fun. I made a few pins out of them. I think I just need to browse through flickr to get motivated and inspired.
